Frequently Asked Questions
In 2010 Melbourne Rubbish was born. It was born due to an idea that came to mind by two brothers. After much family discussion the idea was put into place and as of August 2010 Melbourne Rubbish started trading.
As the first year of business progressed, the name evolved along with the service. The service became less complicated and more functional along with a new logo and name emerging; "The Rubbish Hunter" .
With a desire to help our plant, we provide a service where a person oversees the whole rubbish process from loading it by hand to tipping it correctly and at the appropriate facilities so that as much can be recycled or reused where possible, reducing impact on our plant, and essentially that is a reduction in your businesses impact as well.
We are proud to service our clients with a smile and laugh, we keep communication open so that you understand as much of the process as possible. This is a hands on business and we intend to continue to provide that as the business grows.
Look forward in working with you
Because he is very good at sneaking up on your rubbish! Seriously, because we are good at it. On time, fair prices and job done fast. All with a set of manners!
What do the tips charge? Each tip, landfill or transfer centre varies. From 1st July 2010 the EPA lifted the government levy from $9.00 per tonne to $30.00 per tonne, thus meaning that whatever the operator charges this EPA levy is also charged on top of that. That is why we don't know until we get there!
Where does my rubbish go?We only use legitamite means of disposing your rubbish. Where possible we use recycle & reusable tips or transfer centres. At times we may have to go to a landfill operator to take your rubbish however most landfill site also recycle what they can into reusable materials such as crushed rock, recycled paper & plastic products etc.. We also do our best to take any usable clean items to charity organisations who can then provide to those in need.
